Snow Report 2009
« on: December 18, 2009, 09:47:44 PM »
Hmm.. I love these Noreasters.... now made even better with snow! We are supposed to get 12-18 inches... I'd feel better if my husband was home and not stuck at his wanker job.  They have offices in CA for pete's sake!  Let them handle the calls!

My family in NY are expecting a Blizzard this weekend!  I'm just glad it's now and not expected next week!!! ;)  If it's as much as they predict (Same as you guys) Josh is going to love it.  Me, not so much!!!! ;)

Remember the show in the 70's/80's, now those were impressive storms!!!  That I did enjoy at the time ;D

We got snow last night. Me and the boy strolled about looking at the lights.

Woke up and it is still there. All 1/8th of inch of it. I do miss lots and lots of snow. I envy you guys. Sometimes.
Still tired of coteries and bans. But hanging about anyway.

Right now in Philadelphia we've got about 10 inches of snow and counting. I'm so excited because I'm off all weekend and I dont have to drive in it! Sadly my son is at his fathers this weekend so I have nobody to have a childhood moment with haha.
The time line!:

10/07-05/08: Break.

We haven't had anything but a few flakes here in Bristol, but I'm not so happy about the snow affecting flights at Heathrow and Gatwick today... my parents were supposed to land in Gatwick from France at 10.15 this morning, but the flight got delayed due to the snow and, according to the Gatwick website flight tracker, the plane finally landed 45 minutes ago!

I don't know how many of you guys are hooked on twitter, but this is extremely neat:

In short, he's taking the #uksnow hashtag feed and tossing it on a map.  I recommend ticking the show hi-vis icons for better clarity... been having a good time following it!

And, of course, it's snowing in Bedford now... sort of.  For all it's been below freezing all day and all night, it's sort of slushyweird right now!  :o

vnice, my brother is in S. West VA and he posted pics from yesterday (some snow) to this morning (LOTS of snow!) We are visiting them next week and I hope some sticks around for the weekend! I love snow. We don't get any down here in the suburbs of Atlanta. Just a bit up in the N. GA mountains.

My mom sent me some photos of the snow progression last night!  Looks like it was going to be a lot. (Predicted 18-24 inches)

About 2cm here.

Clearing skies, though.

I was beginning to feel left out...but the snow has found crewe at last today. Just a covering, so not too much of a headache but pretty :)

The mountains have snow here in North Wales.  Down below the mountains, it is just really, really cold and green.  It is supposed to start snowing about 2 this afternoon.  Not much expected though.  Wish there was!  I love snow (as long as I don't have to do the shoveling)!

We've had close to six inches over the past three days - much of that Friday night and Saturday evening.  It's clear here at the moment, but there are clouds rolling in, and it's only 27F out, so we're expecting even more before the day is out.  I hope that's all we get - the roads are iced over and the trains were a mess on Friday night! - because I'm taking the train down to London tomorrow night and flying from Heathrow on Tuesday morning!

We've had several inches, sure... just not together, and falling in such a way as to absolutely not accumulate in the slightest.  Mother Nature has rather apologetically made sure to let a little snow fall while we're sleeping, though - just a few millimetres, but enough to give a tiny bit of white sheen to wake up to.  Still, not enough to play in...

We had some enormous flakes coming down a little while ago - around lunch time, but nothing right now.  I'm over it already & generally disgusted because 1) it is far too cold for me, and 2) the sidewalks all around here are a sheet of ice & wholly unsafe.  And the weather forecast for the week doesn't look promising temperature-wise, meaning we're probably going to be ice skating around all week - if not falling down, cracking our skulls and breaking our bones.  >:(

22.5 inches here just southwest of Baltimore! Getting ready to post some pics shortly!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon
