A wonderful Irish holiday!!!
« on: January 06, 2010, 10:05:35 AM »
I just saw this on Facebook and I'm not sure why my husband failed to tell me we should be celebrating this today!  :P

Today is 'Little Christmas' in Ireland, or 'Nollaig Bheag'. Little Christmas is sometimes called 'Women's Christmas' or 'Nollaig na mBan'. It not only signals the traditional end of the Christmas season ... but also the day when our menfolk do all the household duties. So ladies, hand over those rubber gloves, put your... feet up by the fire and remember to smile as you say "Nollaig Bheag honey!"

DH said this is why he's taking me to the pub for dinner tonight. I said, did you know today was Little Christmas before you suggested the pub?? That would be a big no! Haha!  :P

I told him this is one holiday I'd like to add to our repertoire!  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]
