Car Seats - Groups 2 and 3
« on: January 16, 2010, 11:16:22 AM »
Does anyone have any recommendations for car seats for age 3 1/2 +?  I have the Maxi Cosi cabrio (I think that's the model) now and am happy with it.  I thought I'd see what you all have/like.

I had a Maxi Cosi Tobi and althought it was a good seat, the straps were a pain in the ars*. I now have a Britax one, and its fine. Go to a shop and ask about them, Mothercare is always good for these kinds of things, as is John Lewis

I'd make sure that the seat was a Which? best buy, after that they're all pretty much the same.

The only advice I can offer is to make sure that your seat fits in your car.  I know offhand that if you go to the Britax website you can tell them what car you have and they'll tell you which of their carseats will fit it.   ;)

We have have (as do my in-laws) a Recaro Young Expert Plus (it's group 1 - up to 4.5 years) and can't complain.  DH swears by Recaro as they do rally car seats and seats for car manufacturers that want a high performance seat...  Depending on how long it takes DD to outgrow it we'll probably buy a higher grouping from them as necessary.

I just had another look at my leaflet from ASDA for their Baby & Toddler sale and they have a Graco Junior Maxi Carseat (approx. for ages 4-11yrs) in their sale at £25 (starting in-store tomorrow and running 'til 6 Feb.).

http://direct.asda.com/Graco-Junior-Maxi-Car-Seat/002657055,default,pd.html  Looks like the sale's started online already though.   ;)

We have used the Britax Duo Isofix and have been really happy with them.
