Customs & bringing over inherited items

My dad has just died and I want to ship a small table from the US to here. It's an antique, so worth a little bit (not good condition). Is there some way I can show that it is actually mine and thus no taxable?

I would think you just declare it as inherited since inherited goods are not usually subject to import taxes.
