I've lived in the UK for a long time and have just discovered I need to file income tax returns and this FBAR thing as I have several accounts over 10K.
Am I likely to need a tax attorney as well as an accountant?
Can anyone recommend any US based people who can help?
This is all a bit of a nightmare. I thought it would be simple based on the Embassy website, but I'm told that doesn't apply to someone who's been in the UK as long as I have.
I've never earned enough to hit the threshold, which I guess is some consolation for me.
I'm now retired.
Thanks
Doug
