While I'm not yet married (will be in two weeks! ;D), it was a no-brainer when deciding where to live. Most importantly, my fiance has a great job that i wouldn't want to ruin for anything, in this economy that is really important. And the fact that I've always loved London & always thought it would be great to live there. Even though I have to leave my dog with my parents (he's 9 and wouldn't be able to stand the journey), close my business, and say good-bye to some friends, I have no second thoughts.

Of course the adjustment will be strange at first, but I'm confident we'll get through it together and survive anything. I guess I always try to have a positive outlook, and things (eventually) turn out okay.

That's exactly why when Tim and I do finally decide to get married, I'm moving there. He has a fantastic job and owns his house...there isn't an equivalent to his job in the US.  We actually talked about this before we started getting serious and decided that because I wanted to move to the UK (i set a goal in 2002 to move by 2012) it was the best option for us.

I knew from the get go if we continued to date and were to get married I would move there.  He has two kids he adores and that would be a BIG RED FLAG if he would want to leave them, of course he didn't.  He says moving back to the US isnt out of the question is always a possibility later but hey we will figure that out MANY years down the line.
Now I have married him and will be moving over and the days from the time he left till the time I get there seem much longer BUT it will all workout and things will get on normally as life should be.

Only you guys can make the decision on what is best for you

How can your family feel you are betraying them by choosing your husband over them?? That's ridiculous to me. It's called being married!
I agree! My family is also making me feel like I'm doing the wrong thing by moving to the UK with my husband. Like, how could I leave all this behind?? BUT, my family and I aren't even close anyway. I rarely see them (once every couple of years), so really, I could be in China and it wouldn't make a difference.
