Figure Skating Olympic coverage?
« on: February 18, 2010, 02:36:27 PM »
The BBC seems to skip over figure skating entirely and I repeatedly tap all the coverage to catch a glimpse.  They have only about 5 minutes of highlights on the website.  Any ideas of where I can watch this?  A simple google search doesn't really give me alternatives.

I watched the skating earlier this week - I had recorded it from the overnight coverage (like 12:30pm until 5:20am)

Thanks.  I figured I was missing something obvious.

Try British Eurosport channel!!  Their coverage of the Olympics is FAR superior to the BBC's.  We get the channel on Virgin L package - not sure its availability on other systems.

Similar to meggles, I have been recording BBC2 overnight and they have been showing the full coverage.

Should be available via the red button on interactive - I'm assuming you have some form of digital TV (whether freeview, sky or cable)
Also BBC iPlayer online
or Eurosport via sky or cable

This was what I had been recording overnight but it was airing what it said, so I was missing half the coverage.

All sorted now, just in time to see poor Johnny Weir get screwed.

That was sad. Fine, his program wasn't as technically difficult, but to place behind people that fell on their behinds? ???

Well that is the thing.  He isn't know as a "technical" skater but his technical skater was higher than some of those above him.  It was the more subjective component score -- the artistic one that he is better at -- where he faltered.  And it was not cool.  I don't think he should have medal necessarily but I would have put him 4th.
