Hi! Question - Does anyone have an opinion on Bishop's Stortford? Is it a nice place to live for a family?

Thanks in advance!

I'm just down the road from Stortford (and oddly enough come from Maryland too).  Parts of Stortford can be very nice and the town centre is quaint.

It's on a main line into London and Stansted Airport.

If you know the street or area you plan to live, I can give you a bit more detail.

I am also just down the road from Bishops Stortford and it is a lovely area--as MrsC said, some parts are better than others, as with all towns. Education is good, and you have excellent national and international rail/air/road links. There is lovely countryside in the area and nearby there are really interesting things to see and do. Jamie Oliver's parent's pub is nearby as well, and the food is pretty good! :)

Hope this helps!

I'm right outside outside B Stort, as well.  :) We're close to town and a short walk to the train station, but still rather rural. Schools are good and Cambridge is just up the motorway, so it's ticks lots of boxes for many who don't mind the commute to London.
