Stepmom's first task! Decorating PT kids room
« on: March 30, 2010, 02:29:52 PM »
Well DH never bothered with decorating and now the kids love the fact the living room as color and shelves.  The kitchen and bathroom has style and even our bedroom has some STYLE.
I call it a womans touch which it needed.

So now the poor kids room has NADA...The 7 yr old has the 11 yr pass me down Princess duvet and thats sad and she comments on it.

I re-arranged the room and now you can see the BIG window and I found the curtain rod under the bunk beds which means curtains!

I text the 11yr old saying yep time for color what do those 2 think for color - the repsonse was lime green/dark pink and sky blue....GREAT colors (its now a purple duvet and a princess one)

Basically I want a trendy/hip/fun duvet cover for each of them and they can match and I am not afriad to hang lime curtains or put down a fun rug.

Problem? I swear I have searched everywhere - I went to TK MAXX and Tesco today and its just so plain.

Any ideas? I dont want to spend a small fortune but this is my first task as a new stepmom and obviously want it to be "cool"

Thanks!
Jenn

Argos has a pretty good slecection. In my town there is a bedding shop that is always having sales...not sure if you have anything like that. Amazon has a good selection also. If you have a market in town- it might be worth checking that out too....you never know, you might get lucky :)

What about Ikea? They have lots of cute, fun, colourful bedding. Here's a couple that could be fun in pink, greens and blues....

They also have tons of solids or if you're into sewing, their fabric is pretty good.

IKEA is a good option as you'll be able to find stuff that's a bit more 'grown-up'. Meaning that they have cool prints and colors, not necessarily princesses and Dora the Explorer.
