Is it 2011 Yet? London or BUST!

Hello!

I just found out that I've been chosen to work in my company's London office for the first six months of next year-- I'm so excited, but January seems so far away! I thought I'd do some research on what to expect and maybe get some suggestions on where to meet people, etc. What should I add to my list of things to see and do-- Any ideas? Is there anything I need to know about the way things work in the UK that may be different than here in the U.S.? I'm a New England girl-- I grew up in Maine and currently live in the Boston area. The last time an adventure like this presented itself I landed in Indianapolis for three years. Something tells me that London is going to be a drastically different experience

I grew up in CT, moved to western MA for college, and am now working in eastern MA while my UK fiance and I are figuring everything out.

Woo!  Another New Englander (although not a native, shh!) checking in.  Welcome!  I went to school in Maine and we moved to London in late 2008 from Cambridge, MA when my husband got transferred for his job.

Welcome! I'm not from New England, but if all goes well I'll be moving over to start a new job in London myself in June and I will be looking to make new friends over there, too.  I've never been a big city type myself so it's going to be quite the adjustment ;-)

What kinds of things are you interested in seeing & doing while you are there?
