I haven't been, but Tripadvisor has always been good at sorting the wheat from the chaff:http://www.tripadvisor.com/

Hubby went before we met - he stayed at the Hotel Sahara Beach in Skanes and raves about it all the time.  Not 5 star or anything, but a good value for money resort IYSWIM.
BUNAC: 9/2004 - 12/2004. Student visa: 1/2005 - 7/2005. Student visa #2: 9/2006 - 1/2008. FLR(IGS): 1/2008 - 10/2008. FLR(M): 10/2008 - 10/2010. ILR 10/2010!!

Thanks for that, as that is one of the hotels coming up.

I do use trip advisor but sometimes it's one extreme to the other....I find that if at least 50% of the reviews are good then it's probably fine.
