looking for voltage converters
« on: August 02, 2004, 03:16:04 PM »
Hi if anyone is selling a used voltage converter ( max load 300Watts) please let me know.
I have been checking UK ebay but there converters only go up to 100Watts.
I am looking for a US to UK converter.

thanks

I got one that goes up to 200 wats here: http://www.leadsdirect.f9.co.uk/ and they had very fast delivery. Wasn't particularly cheap, but cheaper than buying all new small appliances....

Hi,

I have three converters which I was planning to put onto ebay later this month because we are in the process of repatriating back to the US.

Here are the specs:

converter #1:  100w - 1 amp fuse
converter #2:  450w - 4 amp fuse
converter #3:  450w - 6 amp fuse

I think the reason you may find they are expensive to ship is because they are extremely heavy.  In fact, it weighs 3.1 kilograms and according to our Royal Mail rate booklet, it would cost £7.20  to ship at the standard parcel rate (up to 4 kilos).

If you are interested in making me an offer on any of these, send me a pm.  :)

I bought a 1500 watt converter from this place.  To be honest, I think the higher you go the better the value, especially if you want to use a kitchen appliance or hard dryer or something that needs big wattage.  Also, they recommend to buy double the wattage you need in case of spikes.

Someone sent me a site for converters that go up to 3000 watts but it's bookmarked on my home computer.  I can send that to you tonight if you like.
