Huh.  Apparently rhubarb is the new (old?) 'in' thing that celeb chefs are flocking to, according to the free paper today:

http://www.metro.co.uk/metrolife/food/814365-rhubarb-rhubarb-how-britain-fell-back-in-love-with-a-vegetable

It talks more about why the forced rhubarb from Yorkshire is the best!  :)

"a 30-square-mile area between Bradford, Wakefield and Leeds that solicits the best rhubarb in the world thanks to its soil."

And:

"Lit by candlelight in dark dens, the veg we know and love (no, it’s not a fruit) is especially sweet and delicately flavoured compared to its garden-grown cousin because no photosynthesis takes place."

I like the sound of a rhubarb crumble cake.  :)

I love rhubarb!

Do you have an ice cream maker? Rhubarb ice cream is lovely.

Or try rhubarb fool?

Because it is so tart, I think it works really well for creamy-style desserts.

As for growing the best rhubarb, the best is the stuff you grow yourself, no matter where you live.  :)
