I don't know how much seating they sacrificed for an extra staircase and extra door. Maybe if there's a bus expert around here they might know. IIRC, these are supposed to have seating for 87.
I am glad it's going to be more efficient ecologically, but if they make the buses more crowded, and discourage people from using public transport or cause more buses to be run, it's not really worth it. I might be totally off on the seating thing though. Maybe they will be just as roomy.
ETA: From looking on Wikipedia, from what I can see, it looks to have at least average if not more than current buses. Good. I guess the look will grow on us. I don't think it really looks like a Routemaster, though.
I don't know if they are still going to do any of the ones in this
article, but the pictures remind me of something out of Fallout 3.
