I just learned not to have your documents inside the car because if a 'bad' guy steals your car and is pulled over by the police the bad guy will reach over and get the documents  from the glove box and he can be on his way. Also if the docs are in the glove box the bad guy can get your address and hit your home while you are delayed getting home, because he has your car. So the solution is carry them in the trunk (boot) were they are out of the way.

I was wrong. He's got the insurance stuff here in the house, the stuff in the plastic windscreen thing are the road tax documents. Just got an education the road tax, and that it's £125 per year. Oh. I didn't know that a road tax existed. Again, oh. Oops. ;D

For newer cars, the cost of that tax disk varies depending on the vehicle's CO2 emissions, from free up to £950! For cars and vans registered before 1 March 2001 it is based on engine size, £125 under 1500cc and £205 above.

Free for cars registered before 1/1/1973.
