Hello
« on: April 27, 2010, 02:35:20 PM »
Hello,

I am an American that moved to England a little over 3 years ago now and have recently moved to Scotland. So alot of moving! My husband is British and that is how I came to be here. Shortly after moving to the UK we have had a daughter and I haven't really had time to go through the culture shock and I find it's all starting to hit me all at once. I find I am feeling a bit over-whelmed and didn't know who else to talk to so here I am!

I hope I don't sound like I complain too much as I really like it here, it's beautiful and I count myself lucky. I suppose I am just trying to go through the culture shock process and be able to feel a bit normal again. I suppose the stress of moving from America to England and becoming a parent shortly after then moving again to Scotland has bogged me down a bit!

Well that's me in a nutshell, it's a pleasure to meet you all and I hope I will be able to make some friends on here  :) That and have a few good rants lol

Hey Justgirl, whereabouts in Scotland are you at? You can PM me if that's better. Just curious. I am moving to Scotland around Aug. 1, and it'd be nice to be able to make some American friends too. :D

Hi there

I'm in Aberdeen and have an 18-month-old boy so if you're anywhere near give me a shout and we can meet up or something.

Hello and welcome!  I am an American who is about to move to London.  I can't wait to visit Scotland as I am sure it will be beautiful.  I know the culture shock must be tough, though.  Good luck!

Sorry I missed your post.  I haven't been on here much since moving here 2 1/2 weeks ago.  I am currently in the Central region of Scotland on the east side.  Pm me.  I would like to get to know some other people from America around this area, even if you live far, we could still keep in touch and maybe some day organise a meet up with some others in Scotland.

Welcome Justagirl!  Where in Scotland are you living?  I've been here 10 years and I simply adore it.  It may have been easier for me to adjust as my kids were grown and on their own and I was 'older'.  Anyway, I'm in west Scotland in Argyll near Dunoon.
Love life in Scotland.  Love retirement.  Love travel.  Life is good.
