A Wisconsin Badger in Wiltshire!
« on: May 17, 2010, 12:38:56 PM »
Hello UKY!
I have started a new job in Melksham, Wiltshire and love it over here. I am from Wisconsin and I am a male in my mid 20's. I have been looking around the site and love it. The closest city is Bath and it is amazing. I was just posting to see if there were any yanks around the area to meet up with for a game of golf or a drink. I know already that I miss my golfing boys back in the states and I am looking for some new friends on this island. Any advice about the best golf courses in the area or ideas to meet some single ladies....please post.

On Wisconsin!

I grew up in La Crosse!  Where in WI are you from?  I live quite close to Wiltshire, but you'd likely find my society pretty dull ;).  Anyway, welcome to UKY!

Hello and welcome.  My grandfather was lecturer at the University of La Crosse.  Spent some summers up there.

I'm from near the Dells, but living in Madison currently.  Hopefully, by this time next year, I'll be living in Scotland.

Good to have another Cheesehead on the forum. :)

heh.  Born, raised, and residing most of the time in Milwaukee, but running away to Birmingham next year, and I don't think my guy would know what to do with a golf club, though he'll (try) to explain cricket for HOURS.

I am from Prescott, WI south of Hudson and right on the river where the St. Croix and the Mississippi meet. Only two hours from LaCrosse and I have had my rounds with the bars there.  I am glad to hear that there is multiple badgers on this island it will help me sleep better at night.

Plus, That "I Cheese WI" shirt is Great!

I've got a cousin who used to live in Prescott.

...Is anyone else thinking of that joke from 'Hot Shots,' where everyone ends up being from/connected to Eagle River? :p
