Michael Pollan?
« on: August 04, 2010, 07:20:33 PM »
Anyone read any of his books? I just finished In Defense of Food and am feeling somewhat inspired to get my act together.

One of the more interesting things I took away from that book is how there's not actually a lot of good science to back up the calls for a low fat diet that we've been bombarded with for so long.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

I LOVE Michael Pollan!!  I've read In Defense of Food and The Omnivore's Dilemma and I completely agree in wanting to get my act together!  I try to only buy foods made with 'cupboard ingredients' and as fresh as I can...There is a great website that tells you what fruit and veg is in season http://www.eattheseasons.co.uk/index.htm and that helps me to buy food in season :)

Have you read any other books on the subject?
