Indiana gal in Bristol

Hello! Im Laura, 25 and live in Bristol. Ive been here for 5 1/2 years and Ive only just now thought of looking for other Americans in the UK and came across this site.
Im married to my husband Kev who is English and we have two children- Zoe who is 5 asnd Reuben who is 1. I look forward to getting to know people!

Hello and Welcome! How is it that you ended up in the UK in the first place?

I met my husband about 8 years ago while he was travelling around the States and we kept in touch for a few years and he continued to come back to see me (he was smitten!). We got engaged, then found out we were expecting our little girl the day before he was due to fly back to England. We then had a hard decision on who would move and the logical one was me coming here because of his work and the process was easier for us. So we got my fiance visa in Chicago in August of 2004 and I moved over the beginning of October, had our daughter 8 weeks early that December and then got married end of January 2005. Whirlwind for us really!

That's an awesome story! There are loads of other whirlwind romances around here, for sure!

I somewhat know where Greenfield is my 2 older nieces used to live near Indy & my Best Friend sister lives in near Salem. 

Dh & I try an go home every year if possible we usually go close to Thanksgiving time cause we cant go home for Christmas & our Wedding Anniversary is Nov 27th so we like to celebrate it while were home as well. 

Id love to go back around Thanksgiving, but dont think we ever will be able to with kids in school.
We go back atleast once a year but try for 2/3 trips if we can. We were just over for three weeks this past Christmas and my parents and younger brother and sister are coming over here this summer- arriving the last week of July. Im looking forward to it as they have only ever come her ein the winter so it will be good to show them the West Country in the summer. We have booked a cottage to stay in for a week in South Devon (close to my inlaws) and I cant wait to see their reactions to the british coast!
