Did you do the immigration process on both sides of the pond, kbeaumont or did you bail on this end like us and do England only?  Although, secretly, it would be easier here as I am established with a good job, apartment, car, etc and starting over in England for both of us will be from scratch.  But, I adore England and always wanted to end up there anyway.

We did it stateside about 6 years ago.  We also did it without a lawyer, which proved to be an interesting and informative process.  Now, we are going to apply for his US citizenship around Sept/Oct of this year because if we ever decide to move back to the states, we don't have to deal with the immigration process again.  ;)

In Feb/Mar, we are going to put my application in for a spousal visa, so that we can make the move to the UK in the late spring/early summer (fingers crossed).  He wants to go back to be closer to his brother (unfortunately, both my in-laws passed away a few years ago) and I've wanted to live there for as long as I can remember...we'll be starting from scratch as well, but we are ready for a change and a challenge.

Good luck to you and I do hope it goes quickly for you.  You'll have to let us know when you get it.  Did you submit your application yet?  (sorry, can't remember everything you wrote in your intro)

Oh wow! My husband is from Newton Abbot. Well he lived in Liverton and went to grammar in Torquay. Now my inlaws live just outside of Bovey Tracey on Dartmoor.

To answer your question, kb, I am submitting the application and supporting documents tomorrow to the NY office.  I'm in PA.  So, I'm thinking they should have it all (I'll send it certified) by Monday at the latest.  I posted on the "visa" section to find out if people who have done this recently, if I need to send all original documents other than my marriage and passport (for example my divorce documents).  I'm hesitant to send the originals in fear they get lost or not returned as they are my sealed and originals.  I'm hoping someone on that forum can answer me so I can send them out.

I've been to Torquay and Bovey Tracey.  Wow, it's funny to talk with you about it as it's been ages since I've thought of those places.

Thank you all for the lovely welcome!

I lived in Newton Abbot while staying in Devon to answer Mapleleafgirl.  I love Exeter myself!  We are thinking of relocating either to Exeter or the Bath area as it is near Bristol and perhaps a better change of jobs.

All lovely places, IMO. You could do far worse!  :)
