Unsafe signatures maybe?
« on: March 24, 2010, 11:28:41 AM »
I keep getting errors in chrome that the site hosts malware, I'm thinking it might be tickers/trackers in signatures linked from sites that do host malware :)

Here's an example

The website at talk.uk-yankee.com contains elements from the site www.magicalkingdomsdotcom, which appears to host malware - software that can hurt your computer or otherwise operate without your consent. Just visiting a site that contains malware can infect your computer.
For detailed information about the problems with these elements, visit the Google Safe Browsing diagnostic page for www.magicalkingdomsdotcom.

I just got the same error, referencing the same site.  I'm using Chrome, too.  I got it when I clicked on the "What's for tea..." thread in Food Talk.

That would be shugga's signature ticker then. Unfortunately in a case like this, it will have to be removed.

ETA: Thanks for reporting the issue. :)

Just a FYI for Leah, she's not the only one with a ticker from that site.  I am not sure if it's the only one that was problematic, but it seems to me if there was a warning about that site, there's a potential for any of them being harmful.

I'm still having problems with this issue, and was wondering if it had been resolved?

If there are issues with a user's signature, please send me a PM to let me know so I can look into it.

As some people are still having issues with MagicalKingdoms tickers, these have now been permanently blocked. They've had issues with malware and are causing our pages to give security warnings to some people.

Thanks for the PMs to identify which pages cause a problem, if you get any security warnings on the website, please let me know as this is not normal or acceptable. :)
