Tribal Wives Series 2

Anyone else watching them?  I'm watching them on BBC i-player.  I've seen 1-4 so far and end up in tears by the end of each one. 

I am watching.  I really enjoy it and find myself in tears after most of them as well.

I've been wanting to watch it & I saw either the first or the second one.  My MIL likes it too.  But I keep missing it - I'm too knackered or the World Cup has been on, etc.  I need to catch up what I can on I-Player!

Yeah, don't cry after all of them, though....just saw the Thailand one and while it was just as fascinating as the others it didn't leave me in tears.  I loved the Papua New Guinea one (that girl was gorgeous by the way....) and it left me in tears the most so far.

Yes.  I got the sense the young man really loved her.  What makes me sad sometimes is how unguarded, open and attached the tribal people get with the westerners.  They wear their hearts on their sleeves so to speak, something many of us westerners have learned not to do so much.

Agreed!  Although I think if we could learn to be like that again - open, unguarded, heart on our sleeves, etc - we'd be so much less uptight & stressed out than we are culturally.

Oh yes!  When he danced with the westerner at the wedding and not the girl his family was trying to arrange him with, my BF and I literally screamed at the tv.  The horror!!

The Turkey one and the Papau New Guinea one were my favorites. 

I am loving Tribal Wives at the moment, really loving it and getting terribly emotional involved at every episode. I have been watching them on the HD channel and they look so wonderful. I wouldn't have the guts to do it, but just love that the women who do love the opportunity so much.

But I was discussing with my MIL what the tribes people get in return, ie do they get money, vaccinations etc, and also, I wonder how and if the women stay in touch with the villages etc. If it were me, I would know that I would be desperate to help them financially in some way...

Obviously I am very hormonal what with the new baby and all...
