The oh so familiar dreaded feeling
« on: July 14, 2010, 07:04:27 PM »
Well my gf been in town for last 23days (was wonderful) but that oh so familiar feeling is now approaching....once again. I am bout to head to airport and it seems like every goodbye just sucks more out of me each time, we've done this countless times now.... its a feeling i hate i have to get use to. I know i will be ok and this is more of a rant at the moment...just need to vent. I just want to get it over with and get the first week over with.

I think all of us who are or have gone through this are incredibly strong, and in our case strong is to suffer. So much joy and so much heartache these relationships bring...its almost like a nightmare or dream...you cant believe you actually have to go through with this stuff sometimes...just seems unreal. Saying goodbye to anyone is hard, any loved one.

Luckily for me i should be leaving in 5 weeks to go to ireland to visit a friend, do tiny bit of traveling and move to london "hoping the 30th of august" to study and finish my degree for 2 years. So yes distance "should" be over soon few more weeks finally, but still doesnt make this goodbye in next hour any easier.

Sorry for the rant i know i have to remain strong, but it def takes lot out of you, something i wished nobody had to endure. Thanks for listening and wish all all you luck and success with your situations. This forum has been very useful over the last years.

Yep I think most of us know this feeling well, I am in the U.S with my fiance at the moment and have a week left, we were hoping his visa would be through for him to return with me but that's looking unlikely now as this is only the 5th business day his application has been in.

Stay strong, what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger as some would say. I think it takes special people to endure what we go through for love. It's great that you only have 5 weeks before your back together though and I know what you mean about the first week, it's always a killer.

Big hugs for both of you  :)
Kicking around...looking for answers :)

Fiance's Online application completed Wed 30th June

It's certainly not easy, but you're in the home stretch! You'll be here before you know it.  :)

Just as an aside, are you flying into the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland.  You may want to try for Northern as otherwise your new visa won't get the stamp it needs!

I think one of the hardest goodbyes was the one when my husband and I had to say goodbye after sending off my visa application.  It wasn't the hardest, but close.  Part of it was the uncertainty of the visa process, that's for sure, but a lot of it was because it was so close but so far.  The wait between the visa being issued and me actually coming here was horrible as well.  I think that all those things made me miss out on actually being in the moment as I said goodbye to my friends, family, and the city I had come to live in for years.

Good luck with everything and hang in there.
