Cheap Jewelry?
« on: July 10, 2010, 08:24:55 PM »
Where do you ladies buy your jewelry from here? I feel like jewelry is much more expensive than America. Any recommendations?

Are you asking about costume jewelry or "proper" jewelry?

Sorry, I should've clarified. I'm just looking for some bits and pieces (mostly necklaces) to wear to work. I haven't really found much I liked yet so I wasn't keen to spend 20 ish pounds on something I don't really like. Bit of a random question, I realise. I used to get jewelry from Target, Forever 21 and Urban Outfitters- pretty good deals.

I don't wear much jewellery, but I've found some nice, fairly cheap stuff in stores like Next, River Island, Accessorize, Dorothy Perkins and Oasis before.

Try charity shops.  I work in one and we get some really nice and trendy stuff donated along with strange, unique (depending on your tasted!) stuff.  Also some charity shops, like the one I work for have some new goods (in addition to second hand stuff), including jewelry.  It's trendy and colorful and cheap (but you get what you pay for with the new stuff--not very well-made.).

Definitely Accessorize.

Oh man, I seriously miss all of my cheap jewelery places in the US! I find I just don't LIKE a lot of the stuff here (like at Top Shop), and am not that keen on Accessorize either.

While living in Las Vegas, this was my place -

http://www.francescascollections.com/  (there's a lot more in the store than online).

I just wait until visits to the US to buy jewelery. OR -

My favourite store EVER is Anthropologie (love!), and they've finally opened the first two stores in Europe, in London. Although its pricey, they often have sales and prices get slashed big time. I know this doesn't help ladies not living in London, but its a saving grace for me. All of their jewelry is really unique and made well. They DO have their sale stuff online, but the prices are almost always cheaper in the store itself. They might not be as cheap as something as accessorize, but the stuff lasts....

Thank you all! That helps. I will definitely check out charity shops. I never think to go in there. You never know what you might find. I will check the other stores too but I will also plan on buying loads of jewelry on my trip back to the US!

You can also try SecretSales.com. They often have some nice jewelry at discounted prices, as well as good deals on designer clothing, bags, home ware, etc. I'll admit I haven't bought anything yet, but I always pretend I'm going to once I have more money...  ::)

Not sure if you're able to register on your own anymore, but here's an invite to join if anyone is interested: http://secretsales.com/registration/?invite=7668383

I popped into some shops on my way home from work today. There are huge sales in most stores. I got some nice pieces from Accesorize and New Look.

If it's cheap costume jewelry you want, they have RIDICULOUSLY cheap stuff at Peacocks! Love it. I also buy mine at Asda, Tesco, Claires, New Look... All quite similar to Forever 21.
Finally living with my Husband in London after 6 1/2 years together but apart... and loving my life!

I have a lot of friends who make and sell jewellery on etsy or http://www.shophandmade.co.uk/ Not always the cheapest option but you get unique stuff and most sellers will customize stuff for you.  I get lots of compliments.
