Aluminium Cans
« on: July 19, 2010, 09:05:37 PM »
I posted a while back about how I always find dented aluminium cans in the supermarket mixed in with the good cans.

When I'm shopping, I always check that the cans I pick have no dents before I put them in my trolley.

I've been finding that even though I do this, when I take my cans out of the trolley to put them on the counter, some of them get dented.

And when I unpack my groceries at home to put the items away in the kitchen (I wheel my groceries home in my trolley), I sometimes find more cans that are dented.

I don't understand how the cans get dented so easily.

I don't THROW them into my trolley or THROW them onto my kitchen counter.

I had pets when I lived in the US so I'm used to dealing with large quantities of cans (of dog or cat food) piled on top of each other, and they never got dented, even if I accidently dropped one.

Do they use a thinner layer of aluminium here or something?
