searching for a big jar of almond butter
« on: August 19, 2010, 09:58:58 AM »
i've tried holland and barrett, i've tried the whole foods in kensington...
i really miss being able to buy a big jar of almond butter (particularly the brand Justin's -- which comes in flavours like: maple, chocolate and honey)
and i did notice you can buy your own freshly ground nut butters at that whole foods, but almond wasn't one of the options that day. i have seen pistachio in the past, though, which seems VERY tempting.  :)

does anyone know where i could get something? the only thing i've found so far are 170g jars. it would be nice to find something, like, 3X that size. otherwise, i may have to start making my own, and that seems like quite an undertaking!

unrelated...i found libby's canned pumpkin at that whole foods too (quite a large can)!

MLG, those are all 170g jars which the OP has already found.

I though at Whole Foods you ground your own? Couldn't you make as much as you wanted in that case? Other than that, my only suggestion is to buy 2 jars.

Why not just almonds+food processor+optional salt = almond butter?  Mmm fresh.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer.
