International Business anyone?
« on: August 07, 2010, 01:05:41 AM »
Hi! I'm finishing up my International Business Bachelors Degree here in the States. I want to study back in London though, loved it there :) Anyone else study International Business there in London? I think that I'm gonna have too do my Masters Degree there, so then I can HOPEFULLY get a job there when I'm finished. I fell in love when I just did my semester so I'd be pretty excited if I could make it over there again, especially for a year. I definitely understand how expensive it is, have been through the visa process (long and horrible for me haha) Any advice on where to go?

My boyfriend studies International Business in Nottingham (which is a lovely town, but it's certainly not London!)  For me, I decided London was far too expensive, and that I could get a better education in my field elsewhere (and cheaper).  The UK often prices different courses at different tuition rates, so be prepared for that!  I just couldnt fathom spending 23,000gbp on tuition rather than 14,000 simply to attend uni in London. >:(

I do know that the London School of Economics is very well regarded, and has a wide variety of programs with the word "International" in their course title

Other than that, you could also look into the usual suspects like UCL, King's, and Imperial.  Good luck! :)

Be sure to check out the Guardian's University Guide for business and management studies: http://www.guardian.co.uk/education/table/2010/jun/04/university-guide-business-and-management-studies
That will bring up ratings for universities across the UK, which might still be worth looking into since living expenses in London are unreal. Plus, some aren't that far away that regularly visiting London wouldn't be out of the question.

You can also try http://www.findamasters.com. It has a pretty good search function to find unis, but can be a little out of date when it comes to listing courses.
I urge you to please notice when you are happy, and exclaim or murmur or think at some point, 'If this isn't nice, I don't know what is.' Kurt Vonnegut

Thanks everyone!! yeah I studied right in the middle of London when I was just there and it was crazy expensive!!! Can't believe how much I spent on food and such cause there wasn't really a proper grocery store besides waitrose which is ridiculously expensive. Thanks for the websites though! I'm definitely going to go check them out

Also explains various careers in the UK, has CV advice etc. etc.
