unfortunately the story is true...it is becoming way to common when people are having custody battles to do something to hurt or kill the kids..it is a very sad situation..

Aye very very sad situation indeed. Those poor kids what they must of gone through 

I also feel very badly for the dad who was still up Aberdeen way.

Reading the article, I got the feeling that there was more going on than just a custody battle.  Giving the kids personal alarms, wanting to homeschool them, etc., makes  me think that mom was rather unbalanced.  (Not that everyone who homeschools is crazy.  I just think that, combined with other behavior, she seemed kind of paranoid.)  If she'd gotten it into her head that her kids were only safe if they were with her, and then she was told that they'd be taken away from her (even if only to visit their father), well....   

This is awful. I had a professor in school who was going through custody battle with his ex and the wife took the 15 year old son to the park where she shot and killed them both. Apparently she had been planning it bc she had also taken the pets and had them euthanized the day before. I cant understand these parents.
