Sending more good thoughts your way, hopefully we get enough of us rooting for your visa approval and you will have it back all the sooner! It totally sucks about the priority option being taken away for that time span. I know my heart dropped when it happened but I wasn't ready to apply yet then. I know too how hard it is missing the one you love, this wait has been so hard. We got married three months ago, and haven't seen each other since. It's always waiting, but soon, you will just be where you want to be and can forget about all of this. Easier said than done, right? I know.. but hugs, it will really all work out.  :)

:o( and you're supposed to fly out in just over two weeks?

I didn't buy a ticket yet, but yes, that was my intendend arrival date in Scotland. I'm not holding out much hope that is going to happen now.

Thanks again for the well-wishes, all. I really do appreciate it.

Sillysprite: The worst thing about it all is I have nothing to countdown to. Because the waiting is indefinite. If I knew I was going to receive my visa in two weeks, or four weeks, or whatever, then at least I would have an end in sight. As of now, I don't know how long I'll be waiting. Still, I'm sure you can very much sympathize with the missing of the loved one. Three months is just too long, considering we've had to deal with so much separation in the last 1.5 years already.

I know, but what I do is just make a countdown to when I am hoping to be back with my husband and hope and pray it works out close to it. I have been doing this for six years, the waiting and counting and missing him and missing our life together. Just thankful we are finally getting there, even if I don't know for sure exactly when. It sucks having to put your future and happiness in someone elses hands, and just sit back and wait. I am hopeful your wait won't be much longer.

Sorry Carrie.  Its really sucky to be in limbo and playing the waiting game.

I waited for 3.5 months for my work permit to come through in 2007. Then, I had to apply for a visa afterwards.  The whole process took me like 4.5 months and it was a bit sucky because I had no idea when anything was happening and I couldn't make plans for any activities I was doing, or moving or packing or shipping or plane tickets or quitting my job or anything or saying my goodbyes and I really had no idea if I would qualify for the visa or not in the first place.   I don't think I even had the option to expedite anything at the time either. So yeap, crap waiting for someone else to decide your future.  It worked out for me and it will work out for you  :)  Good luck to you and hopefully it comes through soon.  :) :)

Carrie you will for real be Carrie2Scotland soon - I am thinking positive thoughts for you.
If I were in your shoes all the positive thoughts you want to say thank you but honestly think this is crap let's get a move on it. No words can speed it up but at least you know people care and can relate and you got the short end of the stick for those 16 days for sure!
Can you go to Texas? Are you just waiting in Washington for the famous Visa to arrive?

I hope something can make you feel better but think all this to end up where you want to be ;-)

huggs!

gonna re-start this thread. Sorry if i hi-jack this but im in a similiar boat waiting on my visa as well. This has been the worst experience to date in my life, what a nightmare to say the least.

I left my job, sold my car, basically got rid of everything, so im with you with my life is in limbo day to day waiting for something that seems to never come. Ive emailed the embassy twice and the other day said ill be a matter of priority...yet another business vanishes.

It does make me mad when i see other people get their visas in such a short time, not knowing how it feels to pull your hair out everyday for weeks. I just cant believe how long this goes on for some of us, its frustrating.

These ECO's must not know the agony, and stress that they cause..these are people's lives. This just doesnt affect me, my mom is a wreck, gf, everybody. It seems like it will never end. I just had to vent myself because i feel like lot of people fly by with this visa thing, piece of cake , but people like you and me, and silly...suffer daily/weekly. Will it ever end?!

PS. Did you end up getting your visa..since this thread is almost a month old?
