Holy Moly, that's needlessly complex! Mine for the whole year looks like this: http://twitpic.com/2ljjen

That's exactly what I was hoping for!  And that 3 day school week is awesome.  I'll let you know if mine simplifies eventually, fingers crossed!

Mine was a little confusing too but once I put it in my calendar it got a little easier to understand. The hardest part were the classes that only lasted a few weeks and then changed to another class. Not at all like timetables for universities in the US.

Yeah, it depends on the system at each university in the UK. The majority will work on two 11-week semesters spread over three 10-week terms, so you only change to new classes in February (for the new semester), but others work on two semesters split into four 6-week quarters, spread over three 10-week terms, so the classes change over every 6 weeks (or, if you go to Oxford or Cambridge, you only spend 24 weeks in school instead of 30, with three 8-week terms!). Some classes are full-year classes, though, so you might take the same class right through from September/October to May and then take the final exam in the summer.

Wow lunasera, it's amazing how different departments at Leeds Uni are!

I only have classes on Mondays (albeit all day until late) but just on Mondays and then I report to my advisor once a week on my project progress. God, I love theatre.  ;)

ETA: I will be working ridiculously hard to make my project happen *and* be amazingical, so I'm not just going to be chilling out on the sofa.   :)

wow, that's awesome I'm jealous!  I guess I asked for it getting a MA that is split between both the business and design schools - it was pricy too!  All my background is arty, so I felt like I needed some sort of business type foundation, but I may regret it!

We can get a cheeky pint in between classes when we're both free! Silver lining.  I'll be chilling in the library a lot too, since my reading list for my independent study time is redic. Seriously, so many books I can't wait to read.  I'm so going to try and start reading early.  ;D

Luna, are you going to the International Student Welcome Days?  I won't be there until the 13th so I won't be there Monday or Tuesday, but maybe we can get a pint or a coffee on Wednesday?

Hey Sarah, that would be fun!  Not sure about the International Days, I will be stopping in to get my Student ID card, but I have a ton of things to get done in the days leading up to my program starting on the 15th.  I only get to move into my apartment on the 14th, however it's only a few blocks from campus, so I'll be playing it by ear...

I leave next Wed and thurs-sun is all the orientation stuff. Hard to believe that I'm actually leaving. I have a cousin who's getting a masters in Aberdeen, and I've never been there and she's never been to Manchester so we'll get to meet up.

Yea!  Flag icon changed!  ;D  Officially residing in the UK!

I've been out of school mode so long I haven't even thought to look up international welcome week schedules, I have been thinking of so many other logistical things.... must get on that!
