Plus size Wedding dresses UK/US
« on: June 22, 2010, 10:40:22 PM »
I've been doing lots of wedding research lately and have come across some really nice places that do plus size wedding dresses. (I'm looking for a retro 50s dress, so the sites are skewed to that aesthetic) :)

As everyone plus size knows what a pain it is, so here's a list of places I found (there's also some gorgeous non plus size dresses for anyone interested!)

:)

UK -
Honeypie Boutique
http://www.honeypieboutique.co.uk (Specialises in 50s style wedding dresses, in up to a size 24) I might go with this for mine, toss up between this and VoH - http://www.honeypieboutique.co.uk/ourshop/prod_651114-Lauren.html )

Vivien of Holloway

Fairy gothmother

Candy Anthony

US -

If I was to do it over again, I'd go with VoH!  I like the Honeypie ones as well, but would be fussing with the strapless bodice--it's just so much easier with straps!  I like the gothy ones, too!  (I remember the days when you had to make your own if  you wanted anything like that!)

Also when you go into the VoH shop, the staff are SO nice and you can try everything on, whereas honeypie could be a fit/not fit issue.

I love VoH anyway :) When I win the lottery and don't have to take the tube to a sweaty office full of boys, I'm going to wear nothing but lovely heels and VoH dresses!

I have a friend who would do just the same!  I couldn't do the heels thing though on an everyday basis--too much of a klutz!

I LOVE weddingdressfantasy.com

They ship free within the US and offer international shipping.

I found my "dream dress" on there. Every gown is custom made and can be made in any size from 0-40. You can also choose to have them made in any color - they have DOZENS of colors to choose from.

The dresses are absolutely STUNNING and incredibly well priced. I found them through offbeatbride.com and they come highly recommended with lots of good reviews.

Their designer, Tova, is an absolute gem. She promptly responds to all of my emails and answers all of my questions.

Check 'em out!
