Parcels may be delivered in the evening

The Royal Mail may start delivering parcels in the evening. That would be really convenient for those that work.

Ugh, this will be super inconvenient for me.  My office closes at night and I always get my stuff delivered to work.

Not a problem it is only a service being offered to particular retailers and the customers are given the option-- so shouldn't be a problem if you still want delivery during the day :)

I would love evening delivery as an option. Love it. I am not in love with the current system of the delivery person not knocking and just leaving a "we missed you" card so that we then have to travel to the back of beyond at a specific time to pick up a package  - at which point they have the package out for redelivery so the whole trip is wasted. If you say "come get this Saturday" then please have it at the depot on Saturday. Dang.

Whole new world for a Southern gardener, but I'm very happy.

Much preferable to the 'leave it with a neighbor but don't tell anyone which neighbor' and you have the fun of hunt the parcel. Once the delivery person chucked the parcel which was thankfully wrapped in really thick plastic over the fence that made an alleyway beside the house where we kept our trash bins. Someone's cat urinated on it before we found it days later and OMG, the stench!!   :-X

That is nasty!

We thankfully have a very good postman. If the parcel is small enough, he'll try to fit it through our catflap (even though the catflap is infrared activated, so he really has to push it through). Sometimes he's managed to get the parcel over the gate in the back yard and under our bench.

Ever since I've been on maternity I've got to know him better. He's a super nice guy and really helpful. He knows that I have young twins so he always waits a bit longer at the door and he's a chatty guy.
There are two things in life for which we are never truly prepared:  twins.
