five days from due date and . . .
« on: November 12, 2010, 12:13:27 AM »
I am now guaranteed to go overdue.

After weeks of horrified looks from women who found out I hadn't packed my hospital bag yet, I finally broke down and packed one today. Sods law says I will now not need it, but if I hadn't packed it, I'd have probably had the baby tonight.

at the same time as I was sure it was going to happen I was convinced it never was... Then no one believed me the first stage of my induction worked and kept calling my contractions my 'pains...'  and told me they'd get better...

Good luck!

Awww...hang in there.  I know those last few days are always the worst.  I was convinced from the very beginning that I would go overdue.  I figured if I expected to be overdue and I was on time, it would be a pleasant early surprise!

On Thursday (6 days before due date) the MW said, "Oh I think he'll be here soon" so I said sod's law, I'll definitely go overdue now.  He was here at lunchtime on Friday.   :)

Good luck!!

Meh... it's really hard to pack that bag... I felt like I needed most of that stuff until the hours before heading in... Toothbrush? Needed it... hairbrush? needed it...

I'd never question anyone for packing just as labour sets in!

Thanks all!  I think I have everything packed but the towel.  I keep forgetting to go upstairs and get one of the spares.  I was right though--I'm now overdue :)  Just hoping I don't go two weeks over and have to get induced again.  I really want to go to the local hospital, which is much nicer and more personal than the big factory/city of a hospital in Cardiff.  Now eating pineapple, driving fast over speed humps, enjoying a bit of nookie  ;) and anything else I can think of even though I don't have a lot of faith in them.

i was due thursday (the last scan moved my due date up from the 26th :-\\\\) and nothing's happening so far. the scan showed a large baby & a large amount of fluid, but i'm convinced it's wrong--this kid is still turning like mad and that wouldn't be possible if it was as big as they think it is.

supposed to have a section tuesday morning, but am desperately hoping i can go into labour & deliver on my own before then--petrified of the recovery time with major abdominal surgery, a demanding 2.5-year-old at home and dh only able to take the two weeks paternity leave at the moment.
