Now that i'm married... will i need to run up to edinburgh and get my passport amended with my new married name to travel and get my visa or will it be ok the way it is?  Jo
It's the difference between knowing the path and walking the path.

What's it gonna be Merv?
Interesting deal
She'll do it. If she has to kill everyone in this room. She'll do it. She's in love.

As long as the name on your ticket matches the name on the passport, you're okay.  Which means you can either continue to make reservations in your maiden name (or whatever name your passport reflects) or you can send it off to the Embassy (by courier now, check out www.usembassy.org.uk for details) for amendment and then use your married name for reservations.

No, because they'll put the visa in your old name anyway.  We've had a couple threads on this recently, actually.  Not sure why the immigration folks do that, but they do.

And if you came into the UK on a Fiancee Visa and married here, you won't be applying for a Spousal Settlement Visa.  You will be applying for what is now known as Limited Leave to Remain (LLR).

Spousal Settlement Visas are applied for from the US prior to entering the UK.
