No Visitation in regards to Settlement Visa?
« on: January 26, 2011, 04:47:56 AM »
From the moment we met in 2008, me and my fiancee have seen each other each year in person.  However, for the year 2010, we didn't see each other due to my fiancee renovating the house and myself having major surgery.  Now, my question is, would this be a problem when I apply for my settlement marriage visa since it's been over an year since we've seen each other?

Thank you kindly,
Karen

As long as you're able to show intervening devotion-- i.e. phone calls, e-mails, other means of communication-- during that year, then it won't be a problem.

I thought intervening devotion was for married couples?  They are just engaged so they just need to prove that they have met.

Not that they can't throw some phone bills in there, but I didn't think the burden of proof was quite so high.

That's entirely possible.  Which makes it even easier. :)
