From Michigan to East Midlands!

Hello all I'm Ashley, I moved in July of 09 from Michigan to Leicester. I married my husband in August and we had our first baby (a boy! His name, as you can tell from my username, is Jude) at the end of June this year. Lots of big changes in such a short space of time, but I'm loving every minute!

I'm going back home in January for a visit and it'll be the first time I've been to the States since I moved. I miss it and I can't wait to see all my friends and family again, though some have made it out to see me here.

I'm so sorry it's taken me this long to reply. I got so busy with holidays and then I visited the States for 3 weeks and I just got back last weekend. I lived in Grand Blanc, Michigan, what about you? The transition was easier than I expected it to be. It was really the hardest during the holidays and after my family would visit because I miss them so much.

Hi Ladies,
I'm from Michigan too I grew up in Warren, graduated from Western Michigan Univ then worked in Chicago for a few years. I married a Glaswegian and moved to Glasgow in 1998.

It took a few years to settle in but I love living over here now. There are a couple of American Ladies groups up here that meet weekly/monthly. Its nice to keep in touch with people from back home. Congrats on your new son! x

Ugh, my apologies for the late reply!  I'm in Wigston, relatively nearby!  I've been in Leicester over 4 years now. We should meet up definitely.  I know another American mom in Leicester, so maybe we could all hang out together!  PM me if this appeals
