Periodontists in England?

Does anyone know if there are Periodontists in England? I have a receding gum that I'd like to have checked out. My dentist here (who I've only been to once) said the he would fill it for me but I just don't know if I trust that and would like a specialist to have a look, or at the least, a second opinion.

It looks like there is a British Society of Periodontology. Their website has a search function here: http://www.bsperio.org.uk/findconsult.php

Yes, my periodontist here in US said there would be comparable periodontists in the UK. Just look at the link from missjoules.
