Cat needs a home in CT
« on: July 17, 2012, 06:02:41 PM »
Hi, we are moving back to the UK at the end of August and are fretting about our cat. We were going to bring him but none of the rental properties will allow cats. No family will take him (I made very few friends in CT to ask!!). Does anyone have ideas of how I can find him a loving home??
Thanks
Rachael

You're moving to Manchester?

I'm in Manchester, in a rented flat, with two cats. I was just chatting to a former neighbour who moved a month or so ago..into a rented house with her two cats, bird and foster cat. You *can* find a place to live in Manchester with cats, it just isn't quite as straightforward as without.

Bring kitty and keep looking for a place that will let you have cats.

Its hard when you are relying on agents - although I agree not impossible.... But I have to get moving with the process and don't have a confirmed place to live ....

I agree with Evilshell, you shouldn't have any problem at all finding a place in Manchester with a cat. What agency are you using and where are you looking?

Looking in the Hale/Altrincham area and in contact with most of the agents in the area - Jordan Fishwicks, Thornleys, Tiger Properties etc.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good starting point to find out the process of shipping a cat?

Thanks

How you are getting to the UK?  Some of the airlines - you can have the cat fly on the same plane in cargo.

Here's a bit of info for you on bringing your kitty over: http://www.bradshawinternational.com/advice/international/intl_pets.html#.UAcU_pFJl8E

As for estate agents, some will and some won't...but be persistent! Also look at Gumtree for private landlords (just take your time there, keep your spidey sense on high, but that's where I found my flat, and my landlord uses it to find tenants).

Here's some more agents that might be of help:
