It's starting to be spring time again, and that signals young people on the move. Some to just gad about, and some to explore new relationships. And a gentle reminder about this time of year can be helpful.
Disingenuous intent. They are getting fed up with this. So please indulge some gentle reminders.
If you plan to use the CTA loophole to explore a new romantic relationship, remember that you get an EU type of leave to enter which does NOT automatically convert into a UK 6 month leave to enter. If you're going to be in the CTA for more than 90 days, it's a crime not to report it. If you're not out by 90 days, you are breaking the law.
And just because the calendar year changes from one year to the next, it doesn't mean you automatically get your spent leave wiped clean. And most importantly, it does NOT automatically renew your leave to enter for another 6 months. If you want to renew your leave to enter, you need to channel hop and present your documents to an IO.
If you enter via juxtaposed controls and do not present your documents to a British IO, you will be an illegal entrant.
If you run up more than GBP 1k in NHS fees and don't pay, you won't get back in to the UK.
And a personal note, if you get caught, don't play disingenuous. All that does is get them upset. There's no reason you can't explore a relationship legally, and all the avenues are there to do it. So be smart, eyes wide, and you'll have a great summer.
