Fridge cake/bars
« on: April 25, 2011, 07:40:08 PM »
I want to make something sweet to take into work tomorrow but can't bare to put the oven on, has anyone got a recipe for some sort of possibly chocolatey fridge cake or bars, using stuff I can get at a small 24 hour tesco?

Just got a hankering :)

I can think of two rather quickly, but I'm sure there are plenty more.

Buckeyes (peanut butter balls dipped in chocolate):

These are a bit time-consuming, though!

'No Bakes' as my Mum called them (oat and chocolate-peanut butter cookies):

There seems to be a peanut butter/chocolate trend here. I might have an obsession.  :P

Keeping with the peanut butter/chocolate theme, what about these?

Just have to sub digestive biscuits for the graham crackers. :)

Basic tiffin. I use whatever nuts and dried fruit I happen to have on hand, though dried cherries are sublime!

Ok, this doesn't go in the oven BUT it's only enough for one. I'm just posting bc you said hankering. Ever get a hankering for something quick and easy? Well 5 minute chocolate cake is your ticket, uses a microwave.

It's so good, that even if it's not what you need, I'd be an awful person not to make more people aware of this recipe. For when you have a hankering and don't want to use the oven (hello summer), this recipe is a godsend.

We met in Tokyo through friends when we both lived in Japan.

Last year we moved to Thailand, got our first apartment together, got jobs with the same employer (!), didn't end up killing each other, got married, and decided to move to the UK to settle down.

London, here we come!

I think it got a bit mangled with the html code in there too (the url is in there twice with the html tags in the middle).

I got it to work when I deleted half of the code and took out the tags: http://www.instructables.com/id/5-minute-Chocolate-Cake/step1/Supplies/

Thanks but I don't have a Microwave, I don't believe in them :) (well obviously I believe they exist ;) )

Thanks Everyone! I'm going to get stuck into this on Monday, I made the prince William groom's cake for last Thursday so that has done for the moment.
Love all the peanut butter choc recipes - my fave! :)

Along this same theme of non-bake yummy things, I just had this pop up on my FB wall from lovefood and thought people might be interested. It's Gino D'Acampo's panforte and it sounds really good.
