Austin to Newbury in June!

Hello all!  Just discovered the site, looking for support and hints on our upcoming move.  We'll be headed to the Newbury area in June, from Austin, Texas.  It'll be myself and husband, along with our 2-1/2 y.o.  Will be 'trolling' for moving hints (internet, cars, mobiles, kiddos, etc) as well as potential meet-ups with others who have little ones.  We're looking forward to the move, and thankful to be doing it in June!

we've received word from the UK NY embassy email gods that our visas have been approved! yipee! we'll likely be over there last week may/first week of june (didn't want to book flights until visas officially went through). 

now to stress about the move...

I have been in Newbury since December, here with my fiance. We will both be leaving to go back to the states soon. We intended to marry here and live here a couple years but our application for marriage is still pending (since January), and I will have to leave the country by June 2nd. We found it will much easier to get married in the states, also for us it would be more profitable for us in all aspects to live in America.
My fiance grew up in Newbury, and since I have been here a while if we can help you with any questions feel free to ask.

well, visited Newbury last week, and enjoyed.  Tho, living in a hotel for a week was interesting
seems like a cute enough town, with easy access to london.  i did make it to reading via bus, but was so tired didn't explore as much as i should have.
looks like we'll be living near goldwell park, which will be perfect for our 2-1/2 y.o. looking forward to the move - thanks all for all of the tips so far.  this forum is a wonderful resource!
