Looking for wonderful American
« on: May 04, 2011, 11:25:33 AM »
Hi all.
My name is kay, i am English, i am an artist, and i desperately need the help of a wonderfuly kind American, to help me with my next project.
I wish to create a series of artworks made up from fired once brass casings. {for those who may not be familure with this term, it is a term used for bullet casings empty with no gun powder or lead bullet in} they are completely harmless in this state and not regulated in any way , and are not live in any way, just empty cases.
I have found several companies that sell these  empty cases in the USA but no one is willing to ship to the UK.  I am looking for an American who would be moving to the UK with their belongings, who would kindly offer to bring with them my empty brass cases that i would order to be sent to your USA address before you left.
I could then pick up at the UK end when you arrive.
I am sure that you must be thinking.OMG how cheeky are the english,? Well my grandmother always said , you get nothing if you dont ask.
I would not be so rude as to ask anyone to do this for free of course, i am sure that we could come to some arangment, wether it be in cash or maybe even a piece of artwork?

I hope and look forward to any replies.

Regards

Kay

Hi Kay,

Welcome to UKY. Before you arrange anything, you should contact HM Revenue & Customs. It's illegal to bring in ammunition into the UK without a proper permit. I don't know the rules regarding empty bullet cases but you should clarify this first before anyone gets in trouble.

Cheers.
