Unfortunately I'm not in London, currently in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. I was just curious if there was even such thing as a pub playing the games! I'm hoping I can get some of my family/extended family interested in the sport (fat chance!) so they'll watch with me. I'm totally willing to catch a train to London one day to watch a game with other Americans! Especially if we could get a group together. Do you mind me now asking what brought you to the UK? :) Just curious.

I love the chanting/songs of the UK football teams too! But I also LOVE my tailgates. One big difference I've noticed, is it is much less common for women to be involved in watching football here. In the States it's not unusual at all for me and my girls to go to a tailgate and have some beers and then go to a game. While in England, it feels like it's nearly frowned upon for a woman to order a beer (unless it's mixed with lime, lemonade or some other fruity mixer). I'm sure there are exceptions, but it's just my experiences from the past month. Women drink beer= drunk, piss head, floozy, tart.  I haven't yet been able to go to a football match, but am I right in saying it is much more of the men singing/chanting/supporting?

I get what you mean on the women thing. I am a male though so I can't relate too much lol, however, you are right. My home NFL team our whole town, men and women wear the jerseys and watch football. Wasn't always that way, but seems women have gained lot of interest over the last few years with american football.

You are also right in that I don't see many women into English football here. Places like barcelona and other spanish league teams, and even places like brazil i see more women, so perhaps its just an England thing. With that said I've been to a few football matches here, and i do see women. More men of course though. I remember these 2 girls from one match who were really active, singing and chanting, and taunting the away section, and rallying our section to chant! So i guess it really depends, I am more then sure plenty of women watch and support football here though.

I suppose you would be a guys dream though! A girlfriend you can go on dates with and watch football with lol!

Happy opening football season weekend everyone! Hope you are all able to catch a college or NFL game of your home team (even if it is at "ridiculous o'clock)!!!  ;D ;D

If you have Sky Sports, don't forget the season opener is on Thursday night at 1am (Friday morning)....New Orleans @ Green Bay, I'll be recording to watch on Friday evening....though that might be diffficult as it's our wedding anniversary and going for a meal.
GO SAINTS!
