FBAR Query

So for the first time ever my husband and I have enough money in our savings account to require him to file the FBAR.  We just creeped over the threshold 2 weeks ago, am I right in thinking it's not until June 30th next year that we need to file the form?  It's kinda short notice to get it there by June 30th this year. 

I've checked the FAQs and they seem to imply it's the following year but I just want to make sure!

You are correct that this is for the 2011 FBAR due in 2012. Do remember that an FBAR reports much more than bank accounts.  It includes UK insurance policies that have a cash value (such as an endowment policy), UK child trust funds and probably UK pension funds as well.

We don't have anything like that but thanks for letting me know, we'll keep it in mind for the future.
