Spouse Visa and University costs?
« on: June 14, 2011, 09:08:21 AM »
I am here on a spouse visa, and I would like to take my last two classes that are required for my American Degree and transfer them in... The school is fine with it... I have only been here for a month on my spouse visa.

Do I get the international student rate? Or the resident rate? What a huge difference in cost!

If I do not yet qualify for the resident rate, when will I qualify?

After getting ILR?

Thank you!!!
“It was when I realised I had a new nationality: I was in exile. I am an adulterous resident: when I am in one city, I am dreaming of the other. I am an exile; citizen of the country of longing.” ― Suketu Mehta.

Married 04/13/11, in NYC.
Applied for Spouse Visa the following week, with express service, and I was approved 4 days later!
Arrived in the UK 05/20/11.
I took the stupid LIUK Test Oct. 2012.
We were granted ILR In Person in Croydon on 04/23/13.
Got BRP 2 days later, in mail box - it just appeared.

Unfortunately, you would still have to pay the international student rate.  I think you will qualify for resident rates after you have been resident in the UK for 3 years.

Yeah, unfortunately you can't qualify for the home fees until you have ILR and have lived in the UK for 3 years :(.
