from Philadelphia to Pontefract

Hi Everyone,

I actually posted on this forum a few years ago, but can't remmeber my old screen name.  ::)

Anyway, long story short: I met my fiance online nearly 4 years ago. We chatted endlessly, first via email, then by phone, often for 2-3 hours every day.  We knew early on that we wanted to be together permanently.  A serious car accident delayed our meeting, but every day we fell more in love.

Finally I met him in person last summer, having flown to the UK for a 6 week stay. I flew back in December and stayed for 2 months.  Although we already knew that we were very much in love, and were positive our "in person" chemistry would be as wonderful as our online chemistry, the visits still surpassed all our expectations. It is like I have known him my whole life. We are truly two peas in a pod.

I never thought at age 43 (he's 50), that I would find someone like him.  :\\\'(  We both wish we had met each other 20 years ago.

I also love England, and West Yorkshire is so beautiful. We throughly enjoyed every second we spent together.

So, I am ready to go back, and we hope to get married in October.

I am very confused about the fiance visa application process and have been checking out threads in that forum. I imagine I will be asking a lot of questions soon!

Welcome (back)!  ;)

I've just married my Brit this past January so the fiance visa is fresh in my mind if you ever have any questions or just need to vent about it :P

Congratulations on your engagement and imminent move! I know how exciting it can be when you feel like you've been waiting for so long!

Welcome back and Congrats Fallgal!

Are you doing a fiance visa so you can marry in the UK? Always ask if you have any questions as there are lots of smart people around here ;-)

Hi, welcome and congrats. We aren't far from Pontefract, in Barnsley, and my wife is from southern New Jersey just across the Walt Whitman bridge from Philly.
We are also a similar age (late 40's)

Dear Fallgal:

I just went through what you are going through, now! We hired a solicitor, to help us clarify and get all the paperwork together to send to the Embassy. If you would like, I can send you his information. It cost us about £1500, but it was worth every penny.
Wherever you go, there you are!
