Many thanks for the words of welcome

I think the reason no one can give me any advice is that teens are involved, and there's just NO making them happy! Honestly, they are good, smart kids, and will likely make friends quickly (especially once school begins). They will hate it for a while, though, and will be angry with us for moving them. We will just have to smile and hug them, and be patient with them.
We are moving to Dalkeith, about a five minute walk through the park to my mother-in-law. Because my husband was born and raised in Scotland, the kids have been given a good idea as to what to expect at school. They are particularly unhappy about wearing a uniform. My husband is former British military (as is his mother), and we regularly attend local Scottish events, and watch a lot of British television, so hopefully the culture shock will be somewhat less traumatic for all of us. I, for one, am looking forward to this move for a variety of reasons

I am just not looking forward to the additional teen angst/attitude! But I'm thinking it's just part of the deal, with not much to be done about it but wait it out....
