I'm not there yet, but I will be in Shoreham-by-Sea which is near Brighton!  Should be moving end of this year - beginning of 2011 if all goes well.  Please put me on any list for local yankee get-togethers!!!

I'm in Bognor/Chichester area! I went into labor in Brighton! I keep hoping I will someday bump into someone with an american accent and I'll be happy to finally be in familiar territory... but that day never comes! Maybe someday soon!

I overheard someone with a real twangy American accent in a store the other day. First American voice I'd heard in years. I said, "Ohmigosh, where are you from?"

And she said, "Yorkshire."

Heh. She hadn't been back to the States since 1974, so I guess she must be well and truly sick of THAT question by now. Boy, she hadn't lost one iota of Ohio.
