I've been looking to see if there was any new progress on your passport problems.  My heart really goes out to you, and I am just hoping that this works out for you.

Will you please update when you have time and let us know that (if) eveything is looking up?

Good luck, I'm crossing my fingers and toes for you!!

Thanks Frances.
Im really P.Oed at the US gov't. They refuse to let me renew my sons passport without the exhusbeasts signature. Even if I have consent from him in our divorce decree for me to have the kids living here in the UK. The beast still refuses to sign the consent but said he WILL if I do something for him. Selfish bastard. I wont do what he is requesting so the kids have to suffer for it. I am going to try to plead my case in person at the embassy in a few weeks. Im not expecting to get very far. Its a shame the US govt is keeping its own citizens out of their own country. The boys are US citizens but are stuck in the UK sans passports. I will try to submit a naturalization application for me and the boys for UK nationality. At least they have a chance on getting a UK passport although that still wont get them in the USA. What is wrong with our gov't???
Ill let ya know. Thanks for asking.

I read this post last week and knew I'd read somewhere where one parent could get the passport.

Check this out on the US Department of State web site.  It states that only one parent need be present if you can prove you have sole authority over the children.  Didn't you need that authority to take them to the UK in the first place?

You probably already have all this, but for refrence, here's the site.   http://travel.state.gov/passport/get_minors.html

I hope it helps.

Sounds like a plan!

Just guessing that part 4b needs to be a concise, yet formidible, presentation of [1] a recalcitrant parent, and [2] the root motivation is not abduction.

Pebz, you are home free.   :)

Thanks Beccaboo for the link. I already knew I could obtain new passports for them if I had sole custody however I have joint custody. In our divorce agreement it states I can bring the boys to England but the father still has rights to them. I am going to the US embassy on the 17th with my divorce decree. Hopefully this will satisfy them.
