Hello and I hope I am in the right thread to post!
« on: June 24, 2011, 08:39:13 PM »
Hello,

Please excuse me if I have not posted correctly.  I couldn't see "post" just see "start new topic". I haven't been in many forums can you tell?

Let me say, I love this place. I was in another forum about immigrating/visas and it was total chaos. Too many people from too many countries with too many angles and a lot of problems with language. Whew. And the "experts" weren't helpful and one was rude. I have learned so much here already, even more than on the UKBA website.

I am a US citizen married to a British citizen. We have been married 24 years. We chose the US to live because he hadn't any family left at the time and I did. We are starting the process of moving to England. I have LOVED Britain all of my life-well at least since age 8/9-and love the British people.

I hope to correctly post in the right places-mostly with questions about ILE-so please be patient and tell me how to do things right!

It is great to be here and I have so much to keep reading. I wish others success and warmest regards to the British here!

Thank you.

Hello and welcome to UKY. I too am a US citizen married to a UK citizen for 24 years! We spent most of our years together in the US but moved to England 5 years ago. What an insane year it was preparing for this move, but it was worth it. Good luck with your plans.

Hello! Thanks for saying hi and telling me you love what you did! I know people say even after years some want to leave the UK but I don't get that sense at all. PM me and tell me all that you love about living there. Thanks and warmest regards to you and your husband.

Married 04/13/11, in NYC.
Applied for Spouse Visa the following week, with express service, and I was approved 4 days later!
Arrived in the UK 05/20/11.
I took the stupid LIUK Test Oct. 2012.
We were granted ILR In Person in Croydon on 04/23/13.
Got BRP 2 days later, in mail box - it just appeared.
